The Intensive Outpatient Program At Serenity Treatment Center

So whether you’re seeking treatment for the first time, stepping down from residential treatment, or experiencing a relapse, Serenity Treatment Center’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides enhanced support to win your battle against substance use disorder. For those experiencing addiction or in the earliest stages of recovery, our IOP offers a high level of structure and guidance.
Through individual counseling and group therapy, our experienced staff empowers individuals to build the inner resources to overcome addiction and thrive in recovery, while providing families with the assistance and education to navigate this journey together.

While in treatment, you’ll build a network of peers who understand what you’re going through. Together, you’ll develop essential early recovery skills, relapse prevention strategies, and support methods. You’ll also learn how to navigate emotional triggers and avoid people, places, and situations that could get you off track.

Intensive Outpatient Program Overview
In IOP, clients immerse themselves in a structured and supportive environment, spending 3 hours per day, 3 to 4 days a week in group therapy. During these morning or evening sessions, our focus is on equipping each person with the necessary tools and strategies for early recovery, relapse prevention, and personal growth.
Early Recovery Skills
From positive coping skills to stress management techniques and medication management, we'll equip you with the tools needed to build a solid foundation for lasting sobriety.
Relapse Prevention
Through personalized plans and supportive discussions, we provide the resources and guidance necessary to identify triggers, develop coping mechanisms, and safeguard your progress.
Support Systems
In recovery, knowing how and where to build your support system is critical. From finding family members to exploring medication-assisted treatment options, we present many avenues to bolster your unique path to sobriety and well-being.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Through CBT modalities, you'll learn to challenge negative thought patterns, develop beneficial coping strategies, and cultivate positive behavioral changes essential for sustained recovery.
Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT)
This approach focuses on enhancing moral reasoning and decision-making skills, fostering accountability, and promoting positive change for a fulfilling life beyond addiction.
What To Expect in IOP
Our intensive outpatient programs last approximately 12 weeks for many of our clients. However, in keeping with our commitment to individualized care, the actual length of treatment is determined by your unique needs and not by pre-determined, cookie-cutter timelines.
We have morning and evening intensive outpatient groups available to fit your schedule, as well as daytime assessments, one-on-one counseling with a highly-trained clinician, and peer support services throughout the day.
Our IOP groups have a higher level of care and the groups are kept small for plenty of focused attention. There is more accountability and engagement at this level of care compared to traditional OP, which might have slightly larger groups and meet only once a week.
Who Is Our Intensive Outpatient Program Right For?
Our IOP program provides adults 18 and over with focused, individualized support for successful recovery while allowing time to take care of daily responsibilities at home, work, or school. This program is ideal for those who:
Have completed a higher level of care, such as inpatient detox or PHP.
Are newly pursuing sobriety and need more support than traditional outpatient treatment programs provide, but do not need to sleep in a medical facility for round-the-clock monitoring.
Have been court-ordered to complete an IOP program.
