Welcome to Our Men's Halfway House Program

At our men’s halfway house, we are dedicated to helping men transition back to independent living after overcoming addiction or other challenges.

The house, a traditional-style home in a residential neighborhood, offers a supportive and structured environment with 24 hour on-site staff,  daytime evidence-based clinical services, and flexibility for employment and healthy relaxation.

Here, residents can spend 6-9 months rebuilding their lives with the help of professional guidance and peer support.

Conveniently located on Butterfly Lane in Frederick, MD, with easy access to all the city has to offer, our home provides a safe space for men to work towards long-term recovery and reintegration into the community.

About The House

Our 16-bed halfway house is located at 1313 Butterfly Lane, Frederick, MD, within city limits in a residential neighborhood just a short walk away from the nearest bus stop. 

The surrounding area offers many job opportunities and other essential services within walking distance or via public transportation.

Our house is ADA-compliant and provides a comfortable, non-secluded environment where residents can take care of their daily needs, learn practical skills, plan for the future, and gradually reintegrate into the community after successful completion of the program. 

Our Clinical Services

We offer a range of clinical services designed to support each resident’s unique journey. While living at our halfway house, our residents can expect to participate in at least 5 hours of clinical services per week either on-site or at our Serenity Treatment Center outpatient facility. 

Case Management

Ongoing coordination of care to ensure you receive the necessary services and support tailored to your individual needs for mental health and medical care, legal assistance, employment, housing and more.

Individual & Group Counseling

Work individually and as a group with a counselor or peer support specialist to address personal challenges, develop coping strategies, and set meaningful recovery goals.

Substance Use Disorder Treatment

Receive evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to address substance use disorders.

Local Mental Health Services

Access treatment via our network of local providers for co-occurring mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, or trauma through individual therapy and/or psychiatric care.

Medication Management

Get assistance with the safe and appropriate use of prescribed medications for mental health or addiction treatment.

Relapse Prevention

Engage in programs and counseling that help identify triggers, develop relapse prevention strategies, and promote long-term recovery.

Peer Support Specialists

Receive guidance from our Certified Peer Support Specialists. With lived experience in overcoming addiction, they lead recovery groups and provide one-on-one mentoring.

Life Skills Training

Gain practical skills for daily living, including managing finances, job searching, and maintaining healthy relationships.

Health and Wellness Programs

Participate in initiatives that promote overall well-being, like nutrition counseling, exercise programs, and stress management techniques.

Transportation Services

For those who need transportation when transitioning into our program, or who need a ride to critical services or meetings beyond the reach of public transportation, Serenity provides transportation services to our halfway house clients.

Daily Life At Butterfly Lane

Life at our halfway house is structured yet flexible, designed to help residents regain their independence while still receiving the support they need. 

Residents can expect a daily routine that includes time for work, counseling, peer support, and recreational activities. With 24-hour staff and a full-time clinician on-site, our residents are never alone in their journey.
